Mubarak Mandi Palace

The oldest buildings in this palace complex date back to 1824. The architecture is a blend of Rajasthani, Mughal and even baroque elements. The most stunning segment is the Sheesh Mahal. "The Pink Hall" houses the Dogra Art Museum which has miniature paintings of the various Hill Schools.
These days the Palace is being renovated and it is suggested to visit the area only after the renovation has been complete which is likely to take some time.
Dogra Art Gallery: The Dogra Art Gallery at Mubarak Mandi Complex is open from 10:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m (winter); 8 a.m to 1:30 p.m (summer); Monday closed. Exhibits include fine miniatures of the Jammu and Basohli School of painting.

                                  The subcontinent's largest underground aquarium in Jammu's Bagh-I-Bahu area is drawing a large number of tourists ever since it was opened to the public.



 

Besides students, the aquarium has become a centre of attraction for tourists, giving them an opportunity to revel in the exotic aquatic world. The aquarium has attracted large number of tourists visiting the State. The aquarium-cum-awareness centre comprises of 24 aquarium caves including 13 small caves for holding freshwater fishes, two large caves for holding marine water fishes and nine medium sized aquariums for holding marine and fresh water fishes. It has state-of-the-art equipment, a public gallery, museum, laboratory and a multimedia conference hall. The entrance is designed in the shape of the mouth of a fish and the exit in the shape of a fish tail. The aquarium houses a museum where 400 varieties of freshwater and marine fish are on display

Har Ki Pauri is name of the popular bathing ghat in Haridwar, the sacred city of Hindus. Jammu city also has a temple named as "Har Ki Pauri".Har Ki Pauri temple of Jammu is divided into three sections. The river bank is named as Ganga Ghat although the river over here is Tawi. The first section of the temple has a magnificent idol of Ganeshji on the temple roof. This idol is visible even from a long distance outside the temple. This particular section of the temple has a shrine of Chamunda Devi, the Goddess sitting on lion. On either side of this main shrine, the idols/shrines of Surya (Sun God), Dharma, Yama, Chitragupta, Santoshi, Saraswati-Lakshmi-Ganesh and Siva getting alms from Annapurna. There is a separate shrine where the Goddess Chamunda is in the sleeping posture. The idols of Vishnu and Naga (snake) are found near this shrine.

The Amar Mahal Palace is a palace in Jammu, in the Indian state of Jammu and KashmirIndia, which has now been converted into a Museum. It was built in the nineteenth century for Raja Amar Singh, a Dogra king by a French architect on the lines of a French Chateau. The palace was donated to the Hari-Tara charitable trust by Dr. Karan Singh for use as a museum

Alongside the  Tawi river are the Peer Kho Cave temple, the Panchbakhtar temple and the Ranbireshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva with their own legends and specific days of worship. Peer Kho cave is located on the bank of river Tawi and it is widely believed that Ramayan character Jamvant (the bear god) meditated in this cave.



Ranbireshwar Temple is a popular pilgrimage site that is dedicated to the Hindu god of destruction, Shiva. This ancient shrine was built by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1883. This temple has two halls that have been embellished with figures of Kartikeya and Ganesha, sons of Shiva. The temple enshrines a 7.5 feet long ‘Shiva Lingam’ apart from 12 crystal ‘Shiva Lingams’, each measuring 15 cm. ‘Shiva Lingams’ fixed on stone slabs can also be sighted inside the galleries.
