Balidan Stambh, the celebrated war memorial that was raised in the city as a mark of respect for the soldiers who laid their lives for the honour of their mother land fighting militancy in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has today been abandoned and disowned unceremoniously.The memorial has 54 pillars bearing the names of over 5,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives since 1947.
